Budget & Contract feature was rigid and struggled to adapt to changing business processes in the internal application of property development management. Each business unit had developed its own system and workarounds due to the application’s inability to support their unique workflows. This complexity demanded improved capabilities to better support diverse business needs.
Enhance the Budget and Contract features of property development management application to accommodate evolving business workflows and requirements. The aim was to create a unified, intuitive interface that acts as a central hub for all project-related information, ensuring accessibility across various business units.
• Implemented a dual-budget feature to distinctly manage pursuit and construction budgets, including a workflow for timely budget modifications.
• Enhanced contract management system was introduced with detailed, itemized codes linked directly to budgets, increasing transparency and control.
• The solution was developed on Angular to replace the outdated Kendo system, facilitating a more responsive and adaptable interface.
• This transition was supported by continuous user feedback, allowing for iterative improvements and better alignment with user needs.
• The redesign highlighted the importance of user-centric design and the need to swiftly adapt to user feedback.
• The increased user adoption rates confirmed that focusing on real user needs and simplifying complex processes are crucial for delivering impactful solutions.
• Continuous engagement through initial research, prototype testing, and post-launch studies, including diary studies and surveys, was instrumental in this success.
The project commenced with initial research interviews to understand the specific needs of various business units. This informed the design strategy, leading to the development of wireframes and prototypes. Continuous testing with users helped refine these designs, culminating in a post-launch phase that included initial usage survey, diary study, prolonged usage survey and follow-up interviews to ensure the solution effectively met user expectations.
